Milestones and Progress in DCS Test Runs and Control Solutions Deployment

This document outlines the key milestones and runs associated with the DCS (Detector Control System) project. Initiated in June 2011, the project aims to progressively deploy control solutions for various equipment, including the LKr calorimeter. Key objectives include the integration of hardware and software components, validation of control solutions, and assessment of CPU power across multiple test phases. Significant runs have been planned, culminating in a full-scale test by April 2012 to confirm control solutions across all participating detectors and ensure effective integration of vacuum information.

  1. DCS test runs and other plans FV

  2. DCS milestones • Progressively deploy control solution for available equipment • June 2011 – LKr calorimeter vertical slice • Main goal: • First vertical model from sensors to user interface panels • Hardware • Transceiver and Preamplifier power supplies (ELMB + PLC) • HV system: • CAEN SY2527 with A1832P board • Custom HV electronics (VME processor + DIM) • Software • DIM implementation with In_beam/Out_of_beam reading • ELMB + PLC combined objects • Prototype of FSM + operation models • User Interface panels • Integration of LKr cryogenic control system information VF

  3. DCS mailstones • Middle of October 2011 – Integration run • Main goals: • First attempt of external contribution integration. • Assessment of CPU power. • Hardware • 3 ISEG HV power supplies (with a few loaded channels – can we connect them to real stations?) • STRAW tracker hardware (1 module ?) • RICH HV system (with a few loaded channels)? • Software • Validation of final version of FSM and operation model • Final version of UI for LAV HV system (3 stations) • Could we have final version of RICH HV User Interface? • User Interface panels of STRAW tracker • Sergey should come at least 2 weeks in advance VF

  4. DCS mailstones • April 2012 – Full scale test run • Main goal: • Validation of all control solutions and confirmation of CPU power. • Hardware (all detectors participating in Technical Run) • 8 LAV stations • 3 STRAW tracker modules • MUV1, 2 and 3 • CEDAR • CHOD • Software • Final version of everything including FE control and crates • Can we integrate vacuum information ? • External development (and developers) should be available 2-3 weeks in advance VF
