  1. Jane/Edward Relationship LBQ • During the 18th and 19th centuries, the debate between passion and reason entered popular culture. In “Jane Eyre,” love is the combination of both of these qualities. Without reason, passion is untamed and potentially dangerous. Without passion, reason is cold and merciless. Discuss how Jane and Mr. Rochester negotiate passion and reason in their love for one another.
