  3. The Amite River Locations The Amite River is found in Mississippi and Louisiana. The River is 117 miles long and is a tributary (stream) of Lake Maurepas. The lower 37 miles of the river can be navigated.

  4. The Amite River Attractions The Amite River is a great attraction to those who live around it. The river brings various styles of people, ranging from those who wish to fish to those who wish to participate in water activities such as tubing and water skiing.

  5. The Amite River Although the Amite River is a tranquil beauty, it also causes problems. The Amite River rises quite often, which is problematic to those who live around it since it often rises to the point of flooding. Additionally, the river is a dangerous place where several have perished because of not properly handling boating adventures.
