  1. DE Agenda for Feb. 7 2012 • Work on final draft of “A Modest Proposal” in Rm. 214; it must be submitted by 11:59 pm tonight to www.turnitin.com • Finish working on illustrated fable and share it with class • Read “A Good Man is Hard to Find” plus read critics’ analyses of it; write three quotes from story and two from critics, plus a paragraph of how you would analyze it • Upcoming Due Date: Test on Short Stories and Restoration Literature will be on February 15; it will be worth 200 points.

  2. DE Agenda for February 9 2012 • Read “The Yellow Wallpaper” and create your own yellow wallpaper in a group • Begin reading “The Rich Brother” and discuss • Pass out review guide for Short Story/Restoration test on February 15

DE Agenda for Feb. 13 2012 • Circle Story: Write a story that begins “It started out the best (or worst) Valentine’s Day ever when I…” • Complete Anti-Valentine’s Day Activities including: • Top 10 Candy Hearts You Would Not Want to See • Top 10 Worst Romantic Ideas for Valentine’s Day • Top 10 Least Romantic Valentine’s Day Cards • Top 10 Ways to Celebrate Single’s Awareness Day • Finish reading “The Rich Brother” • Study for test

  4. DE Agenda for Feb. 15 2012 • Test on Short Stories/Restoration • Begin poetry unit by reading: • Those Winter Sundays- Write a poem about a childhood memory involving a relative • Ask Me • Doo Wop- Write a serious or comic poem which contains no more than two words per line

  5. AP Agenda for February 6 2012 • AP MC Practice #11 and #12 • In a circle, go over “How I Wish I Was Thirteen” (p. 355) and “Names” (p. 366) to introduce the novel we will begin reading next week called The House on Mango Street

AP Agenda for February 8 2012 • Peer editing of AP Midterm Essay in Computer Lab in Rm. 214 • Writing a comparison/contrast AP-style essay when done and submit it to www.turnitin.com; you will print off enough copies to trade with another group for them to brainstorm on it. • We will write AP Essay #9 on Friday
