Issue the maternal and child health handbook Maternity Health check-up -> partly paid by public funds *maximum of ¥ 100,000 ・Health check-up for a mother and baby in the womb and health check by a doctor ・You can receive the public funds for maximum of 14 times. If you only have the health insurance of your company 1. If you are absent for more than 4 days because of morning sickness, early delivery or miscarriage, you can receive the accident and sickness benefits. 2. If you take maternity leave, you will get paid the 2/3 of your salary. 3. Infant rearing Childcare Nursery center * from O to 6 y/o ・you have to have a reason that you cannot take care your child. e.g. you cannot leave work ・submit application by Nov. and enroll in April. ・your child can enroll if there is vacancy ・there are authorized and unauthorized childcare facilities ・the childcare cost varies depends on the parents’ income from ¥0 to ¥68,600 per month Allowance for dependent children *monthly Less than 3 years old+¥15,000 From 3 y/o to elementary school kid  +¥10,000 * first and second child  +¥15,000 * third child and above Junior high school kid+¥10,000 ・only for children living in Japan * with limitation of parents’ income ・requirements: submit certified check ・submit the report of current situation every June ・you will receive every February, June and October.→inquire ward office Preschool * from 4 to 6 y/o ・enrollment fee ¥5,650 ・childcare fee ¥109,200/year Medical cost for children Infant health check-up and vaccination ¥0 *you may have to pay depends on the kind of vaccination Medical cost : maximum of ¥500 *maximum of ¥1,000 per month Childcare leave benefit ・for those who had maternity leave with employment insurance ・Monthly salary×0.5×months you were absent. →inquire your company 2
