This class covers chemistry, physics, and astronomy. Expect reading, note-taking, labs, tests, research projects, and class involvement. Grades are based on homework, classwork, projects (60%) and tests (40%).

What work is expected? • Read from text, take notes, answer questions. Move to Common Core Standards (tested in 11th grade) • Perform labs and write them up. • Read articles about science. • Take tests. • Do one independent research project. • Take turns as class officers.
What’s this about a project? • There are one project this year. • They are independent research projects. • Students are given class and homework time to work on them. • They will take 8 - 15 hours, depending. • The best project is one that captures the student’s interest. • Parents may assist.
What are grades based on? • Homework, Classwork and Project 60% • Tests 40%
How do I know my student’s grade? • Parent portal. • Password the same as last year. • See Anna in the office if you forgot your password. • See me if you do not have Internet access.
