  2. INTRODUCTION • Chapter Election: After the 2 years expiration of the EXCO tenure, the chapter conducted election on 1st July, 2015 and the following officers were elected to serve:

  3. ELECTED OFFICERS • 1. Mr. Y. A. Balami Ali Yusuf (CHAIRMAN RE-ELECTED)2. Mal. ShehuAdamuDanazumi • ( V. CHAIRMAN ELECTED)3. Mr. OlubunmiFatimehin (SECRETARY ELECTED)4. Mrs. Ramat Abdulmalik (TREASURER ELECTED)5. Mr. Jerry ChaggaMakeri (P.R.O. ELECTED)

  4. FOOD TECHNOLOGY SPLIT INTO 2 The former Department of Food Technology, Kaduna Polytechnic, the operational base NIFST NCC has been split into two namely: Departments of (A) Food Technology and (B) Nutrition and Dietetics. But this has not in any way affected membership.

  5. FRESH NEWS • Two of the active members of the chapter 1) Mr. Joel Ndife and 2) MrsSakina Bello successfully defended their PhD programme at University of Agriculture, Umudike and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, respectively.

  6. SAD NEWS AND A REQUEST • The Chapter wishes to announce the passing away to glory of a dedicated member Mrs. Achir S. Orsar, a Senior Lecturer in the former Department of Food Technology, Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna, • The chapter also wish request that the names of deceased members should be removed from the membership 89/492/M

  7. FUTURE PLANS • Professional development lectures during monthly meetings, ongoing • Workshop on Technical Report Writing for inductees • Food Symposium on: “The Role of Food Science and Technology in enhancing the food commodity value chain” scheduled for 5th of December 2015. • Corporate Social Responsibility: Education of secondary school students through sensitization on Food Science and/or Technology as a profession.

  8. CHALLENGE • The Chapter is faced with the challenge of financial constraint. The National Boy may wish to re-visit the remittance of the Chapter dues as appropriate to enhance the activity of the Chapter.
