  2. Fold & Keep • Decision taken at Belize Meeting. • This document contains the primary & secondary contacts for all Telco's in the event of emergency. This was completed August 2007 and updated 4th January, 2008 • Will be posted on CANTO’S portal on 10th February and circulated to members

  3. TRAINING • Proposed training recommended by the Committee in Belize • Effective Continuity Planning Certified Training • Dates: 30th January – 1st February, 2008 - Suriname 17 members and 3 non members are registered to attend

  4. CONNECT THE CARIBBEAN INITIATIVE • DRP Committee through CANTO to liaise with CDERA to advance this initiative • The DRP is recommending Text Messaging as a major platform to keep the peoples of the region connected in time of disaster

  5. UPDATE OF DISASTER PLANS The following companies indicated that their Disaster Plans were updated : • C&W Grenada Ltd. • C&W St. Kitts and Nevis • The Bahamas Telecommunication Co. Ltd. • C&W Barbados Ltd. • C&W Jamaica Ltd. • ETECSA, Cuba • Digicel, Trinidad

  6. Cont’d • The Committee recognised the emphasis placed on Disaster Plans by members. • The committee recommended that the following plans be developed by members • Flooding • Earthquake • Terrorism

  7. SIMULATION EXERCISE • The following members conducted hurricane simulation exercises: • C&W Barbados Ltd. • C&W Jamaica Ltd. • C&W Grenada Ltd. • C&W St. Kitts and Nevis • ETECSA, Cuba • The Bahamas Telecommunications Co.

DRP PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES 2008 • One day workshop 11th July,2008 • The DRP Committee through CDERA to encourage member states to develop integrated Disaster Recovery Plans • The DRP Committee recommends that all members conduct a comprehensive power audit of all their facilities on location • All correspondence from the DRP Committed will be shared with other Committee Chairs • Data base of skills set and experience within the committee will be made available to the general membership to be utilised as necessary.

  9. Encourage and Point • Is a BCM Plan available for your organization? • When last was it updated? • It is the subject of audit by your internal auditors? • Are proper document change controls in place?

  10. ENCOURAGE & POINT • Are there mutual assistance arrangements in place e.g. With the light & Power company? • Are you aware of the documentation requirements to facilitate speedy insurance claim?
