Students’ Schedules • Math Block (60-70 minutes) • Rocket Math/Reflex Math • Pre-Assessments/Flexible Grouping 2-5 • Communication Arts Block (75 minutes) • Reading, Writing, Spelling, & Grammar • Science (30 min @ 4x/week or 45 min @ 3x/week) • Social Studies (30 min @ 4x/week or 45 min @ 3x/week) • MTSS (Kindergarten/1st 30 min, 2-5 40 min 4x a week) • Special Area Classes on Rotation • Music, Art, Library, & Physical Education • Musical Performance Groups • Chorus (4th & 5th), Band (4th & 5th), & Orchestra (3rd, 4th, & 5th) • Recess (30 minutes) • Lunch (30 minutes)

  6. Special Area Classes SAMPLE Students rotate through each special area four days of the week. Mondays will be Integrated Arts Day, when each week students will receive an extra hour of art, music, or physical education. For this reason, we ask students to be prepared and wear gym shoes on Integrated Arts days in addition to their regular P.E. class.

  14. iPad Information • Parents will receive an email from the district regarding iPad information and insurance which will be purchased at one2onerisk.com • New Students 1-5 will receive iPads the first week of school. Parent Technology Nights will be held: August 29 at Marshall Middle School @ 7pm • September 3 at Carson Middle School @ 7pm

Placement Process • Students in K-5th Grade are placed heterogeneously in homeroom classes through a data driven process. • Placement each year builds off of student ability, student needs, personal characteristics (social/emotional), teacher recommendations, & parental input, to find the best fit and blend students into microcosms of society and prepare them for the 21st Century and life beyond North Allegheny.

  17. Elementary Student Assistance Team ESAP Coordinator: Mrs. Julia Sweeney School Counselor WHO? We are trained faculty members, school counselors, administrators, and the school nurse. PURPOSE? We identify, refer, and support students who experience barriers to learning. Working alongside parents we create a plan of action and implement strategies to help the student meet with success.
