  2. Facts Some ancient Egyptians believed they were made of pottery and lived on a potter’s wheel. Soap operas actually had nothing to do with ancient Egypt. Aside from all of the conflict, the roles of gods were changing. For example, Isis started out as Horus’ mother, changed to his wife, and back to his mom.

  3. More Facts • Many people believed Osiris was not only god of the dead, but also that he was god of resurrection. • Many Egyptians believed that Horus was the protector and ruler of Egypt. • They also believed Thoth gave Egyptians the gift of hieroglyphic writing.

  4. Mystic Facts • Seth was the god of chaos. He represented any harm done in ancient Egypt. • Seth also murdered his brother, Osiris, by putting him in a coffin and sending him into the Nile. • Khnum was a creator god and was responsible for inundation. • The ancient Egyptians believed thatAtum was thevery first god to come to Egypt. • They also thought Atumcame from the waters of chaos and made the rest of the gods.
