  1. World—Satellite Splashes in Pacific • NASA’s decommissioned satellite splashed down at sea without hurting anyone. • General vicinity of Christmas Island in the South Pacific, south of Indonesia

  2. National—MJ’s Doctor on Trial • Dr. Conrad Murray is being tried for involuntary manslaughter for the death of Michael Jackson. • Murray used the surgical anesthetic propofol to put Jackson to sleep every night for 2 months • Jackson was preparing for a world tour and desperately needed sleep

  3. Cantaloupe linked to 13 Deaths • An outbreak of illness linked to consumption of tainted cantaloupes is linked to 13 deaths, 72 illnesses in 18 states. • Cantaloupes have Listeria bacteria and traced to Rocky Ford cantaloupes—Jensen Farms in Granada, Colorado
