  2. Amanda’s take homes:• In order to monetize blog you will want to have roughly 1,000 views (or more) per day on your site.• If you do not, ways to increase following are to be a follower. Spend 1-2 hours (yes, really) a day visiting other blogs and commenting. Visit the blog rolls of your favorite blogs.Join forums and group discussions about your interests. Follow the people on twitter that you look up to and then visit links that they tweet. Create a fan page, no matter how big/small your site is.• Although dealing directly with PR people can be difficult due to their limited budgets, the benefit is that they have a multitude of contacts. You do not need to say yes to every offered presented. At least let it be known that you are willing to work with them. Be honest and write “your voice” reviews.

  3. • Monetizing Options for Bloggers (this is PR driven sites, not impression paying sites)http://socialspark.com/ http://momcentral.com/ http://blogfriendlypr.com/ http://www.myblogspark.com/http://www.one2onenetwork.com/ http://www.momfuse.com/ http://www.momselect.com/

  4. Gina’s take homes:• If you do have the opportunity to work with a PR company, give them 110% of what they ask for.• Casting a wide net to have multiple streams of income is the best way to create security of income. Finding a unifying factor in those streams is key to keeping it all focused on your path.• Success takes as much hustle as it does passion.• Blog parties are a great way to find new blogs to fall in love with, as well as to help your blog be seen.• When you see your sales slumping, just keep working.Take advantage of that period to create new items & listings. The more items you have in your shop, the more visible you are not only in Etsy, but online in general.• Building links is crucial to your shop SEO, and listings are a vital part of the SEO factor. I always recommend having at least 2 full pages of items (50 listings.)

  5. Traci’s blog revenue streams:

  6. Traci’s questions to ask yourself:• brainstorm create ways to create “call to action” posts -->how will you get someone to buy your goods or services? • are there virtual products you can develop? what are they? • do you have existing workshop handouts or tutorials that can be translated into digital products? • create a mind map or list of all the different ways you can make money on your blog. • list 10 blog post ideas to tie in your products or services • list the manufacturers you want to target for sponsorship • create a marketing blog proposal for you partners • what blog advertising opportunities do you want to explore? • research guest blogging opportunities. • design guidelines for pay-for-post sponsors • look at the blog revenue streams diagram, make a list of categories and ideas for how you can incorporate these things into your blog
