  2. Important Aspects of the Resume • Well organized • State an objective • Easy to read • Targeted to Head Coach • Enhances communication between all parties • Introduces you to Head Coach • Include jersey number

Categories of Resume • Contact information: name in largest font • Personal statistics relevant to the sport • Objective: educational and athletic • Education: GPA/class rank, ACT and/or SAT test scores, honors courses • Academic Honors • Targeted sport (i.e., baseball, swimming, etc) • Achievements: team and individual

  4. Categories of Resume • Other athletics • Leadership • Other extracurricular activities: music, service, volunteer work • Employment • References: head coach, other coach

  5. Student-Athlete Cover Letter • Address letter to head coach • Indentify graduation year • Express particular interest in the school • Highlight athletic achievements • Indentify possible dates when visiting the campus • Include contact information • State enclosures: resume and DVD (noting your jersey number)
