  3. Message & Relationship with Kids Message: Use brain before running away or force. Relationship with Kids: When children meets a bully, they try to run away or try to use force. They usually got caught or beaten up. But if they use brain first, there will be no problem getting away from him.

  4. Characters Mouse - He is very small but very smart and scares animals that try to eat him. Gruffalo - He is very big but is very stupid and gets tricked by the mouse. Fox, Owl, Snake - They are also very stupid and gets tricked by a little mouse.

  5. Text Structure • The sentences are not too long and not too short. (Examples in the book) • This book has a font that are usually in comic books and children books. (Examples in the book) • The size of the fonts are not too small and not too big for children. But onomatopoeia is a little bigger than more text to have some excitement. (Examples in the book)

  6. Literary Tools • Rhyme • Rhythm • Alliteration • Onomatopoeia • Metaphor • Simile • Imagery • Personification • Repetition

  7. Rhyme This author uses a lot of rhymes and these are some examples: - ...deep dark wood... mouse looked good - ... little brown mouse... underground house - ...but no —... gruffalo - ... gruffalo?... you know?

  8. Rhythm Examples: - A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood. (daDadadadaDa daDadadadaDa) - A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good. (daDadadadaDa daDadadadaDa)

  9. Alliteration Examples: - ...deep dark wood - ...favourite food is roasted fox

  10. Onomatopoeia Examples: Oh....! The author didn't use a lot onomatopoeia.

  11. Personification Examples: The animals talk like humans.

  12. Repetition Examples: A lot of sentences are getting repeated so I won't mention all of them. A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood.

  13. Method of Moving the Reader to the Next Page In this book, the author uses question marks at the end of each page. The children will want to know badly what happens next. If it keep making children turn the page, the children will not stop in the middle of the book and finish it.

  14. My Overall Opinion I think this book is very suitable to 5-6 years old children. The book is not very violent, doesn't teaches bad things but teaches them a lesson. Also, the book has pictures, short sentences, rhyming words, etc and children just love pictures.
