Service Opportunities • Tutoring • Concession stands need to be worked: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/409054EA9AF2AA02-khsgirls • Jessie Jones Park: Homestead Heritage Day- Feb 9, two shifts 9:30am-1:00pm and 12:30-4pm, or all day. Nature Fest- March 2, shifts are from 7-9am, set up 9am-1pm, morning 12:30-4pm, afternoon 4-5pm, break down tables and tents or all day. Please email KFry@hcp4.net with your name, school, contact information and shift that you would like to work. • St. Martha's Catholic Church needs tutors every Monday and Wednesday from 3:15pm-4pm. Please park in the main parking lot on Woodland Hills and sign in at the front office (ring the bell at the left of the doors by the front office). • **Email Nora to get approved

  3. Point Deadlines • Seniors: April 26th • Juniors: May 10th • If you are planning to run for an office position, start planning now. You need an extra leadership point, and there are other requirements as well. See one of the officer team for more information

  4. Probation • You CANNOT turn in service points from last year. They will not count.

  5. Leadership Seminar • If you still need that leadership point, the next NHS leadership seminar will be the morning of February 9th!

  6. YES PREP • YES Prep Public Schools exists to increase the number of low-income Houstonians who graduate from a four-year college prepared to compete in the global marketplace and committed to improving disadvantaged communities.

  8. Students • 90% of YES Prep students are first-generation college bound • 80% of YES Prep students are economically disadvantaged   • Most students enter YES Prep at least one grade level behind in Math and Reading

  12. BINGO • February 3rd from 1:00pm-3:00pm. • More information will be sent out over email from Grace Howley.

  13. Recycling • Please pleaseplease come on Friday after school to help save the environment. • See Ross and Jennifer for more information.

  14. Teens for Safe Driving Event • Event to help raise awareness about the dangers of texting, speeding etc. while driving • Would plan on having it in April/early May • If interested, find Lauren after this meeting
