  3. RTW – Scenario Create From the MSDE Command Toolbar, select “MSDE->New” to create a new scenario. MSDE will then prompt for a scenario name as shown in the figure below.

  4. RTW – Planning Options From the Scenario Create Wizard, specify the initial Planning Echelon and Aggregate Echelon for the scenario. In general “Enable Aggregate Planning” should be checked.

  5. RTW – Terrain From the Scenario Create Wizard select the area of interest for the scenario, then click “Next”

  6. RTW – Executive Summary From the Scenario Create Wizard enter in the executive summary of the Higher Order and Click “Finish”

  7. RTW Development • Terrain • Order • Forces & Sides • Tactical Graphics • Order of Battle

  8. RTW – Area of Operations Select “Tools->Map Tool” to select the specific area of operations for your scenario.

  9. RTW – Forces & Sides Select “Edit->Sides and Force Structure, to specify the higher forces and sides for the scenario.

  10. RTW – Set Planning Side Select MSDE->Properties to establish the planning side.

  11. RTW – Order of Battle Select MSDE->New to create a new scenario to select your RTW organizations in their organic composition.

  12. RTW – Tactical Graphics Select “View->Tactical Graphic Palette”. Navigate the hierarchy and/or search for the graphics to be created. RTW graphics are designated from higher.

  14. Sample RTW Scenario Select “Tools->Export Unit Database” to export the unit composition for use in the development of additional COAs

  15. COA Development • Task Organization • Tactical Graphics • Execution Matrix • Wargame (COA Analysis)

  16. COA – Task Organization Select MSDE->Properties to establish the planning Unit.

  17. COA – Task Organization Select “Edit->Task Organizations->Friendly Forces”. Then drag and drop units to establish the Higher.

  18. COA – Tactical Graphics Select “View->Tactical Graphic Palette”. Navigate the hierarchy and/or search for the graphics to be created. COA graphics are derived from the Higher order/RTW and include additional boundaries for the disposition of units.

  20. COA – Execution Matrix Select “Edi->Execution Matrix” to created phases, events and tasking for subordinate elements. This establishes a framework from the MCT operator can product SAF orders.

  21. Scenario Development • Import at the MCT • Produce SAF Orders
