Space Requirements and Installation Guidelines for Cryostat Setup

Key assumptions and considerations for setting up a cryostat system including dimensions, TPC specifications, detector suspension, support structure, optional placements, maintenance, upgrades, and space constraints. Emphasis on maintaining a cleanroom environment and facilitating maintenance and upgrades under the TPC. Importance of side access to the water shield and connection to an outside cleanroom.

  1. XLZD space requirements Just some loose thoughts

  2. Assumptions • Cryostat dimensions by Enrique d=4m, h=5.2m • Water shield d=12m, h=12m • TPC h=3.2m • Detector suspended from the top • Support structure outside the water shield • Optional: DAQ and cryogenics on top of detector

  3. Installation • No overhead in z required • Side access into water shield needed • Critical is the space underneath the TPC

  4. Maintenance & Upgrades • Keep cryostat inside the water shield • Maintain the water shield as a cleanroom • Connect to outside cleanroom (?)

  5. For labs with low roof
