  2. Different Types of Technology • Speech Synthesis: This essentially means that a person’s speech can be synthesized or generated by using different forms of technology. (See: Stephen Hawking Example) • Speech Recognition: This is where you speak and the computer can translate the spoken words into written text. • Multimodal Interaction: Where there are various inputs and outputs. • Translation software: This is could be used by users to translate their native language in order to communicate to others in their own language.

Different Types of Technology Cont… • EyeMax from DynaVox: Is a technology device that allows a user who is unable to use their hands to type information onto a tech device by using their eye movement to type. Then the computer can take this information and generate the text into spoken words.
