ArcGIS 9.4 Metadata Edit Storage/Display "ArcGIS Metadata" format (new at 9.4) Importers/Exporters supported No CSDGM export at release; planned post release by download from ESRI website • One editor interface, different presentations • Integrated validation • "Attach" read-only support of 9.3.1 fmt • Manage from scripting (refresh, copy) • 9.3.x custom editors (NPS, 3-tab etc) not supported in 9.4.

  5. ArcGIS 9.4 Beta Testing • USGS is participating in beta testing • Current version Beta 1, Beta 2 in Jan '10 • Beta program is much more open then before, participation is encouraged

  6. Questions from FGDC for ESRI • Is ArcGIS 9.4 Metadata format open XML to allow access without ESRI software? • Are extension elements (like Biology CSDGM metadata extensions) supported? • Questions have been passed on toAletaVienneau at ESRI.
