  2. What is the GeoData Alliance Organizational Initiative? An initiative to “build relationships among organizations to support the continuing development of the NSDI.” Develop a National Leadership structure that is flexible, broadly represented and innovative Follow up on the ideas of the 1999 National Geodata Forum

  3. Six Phases of Organization Purpose Practices Principles Participants Constitution Org. Concept

Status • Drafting Team has met 4 times and prepared materials to describe and define the GeoData Alliance: • Purpose • Principles • Potential Participants • Organization Concept • Information is available at Website accessed directly or through the FGDC site: • NOTE: Final Team material from September 6-8 meeting not yet on Site • Drafting Team has suggested some actions to move to the next phase

  5. What’s Next • Washington, DC Town Meeting within next 2-3 weeks if there is interest • Drafting Team is completing documents • Outreach and Marketing materials being developed • Incorporation and Constitution Documents to be completed in next several months • Many of Drafting Team continuing on launching the effort • Encourage others to get familiar with Purpose, Principles etc.; get involved and join as individual or institutional members
