Exploring Gender Representation in Video Games: Stereotypes and Realities

This resource examines gender representation in video games, highlighting the stark disparity between male and female characters. With 85% of characters being male, the gaming industry struggles to reflect the diversity of its audience, where 38% of players are female. It delves into the qualitative and quantitative analysis of character traits, the impact of gender stereotypes, and their implications on character creation. Understanding these dynamics allows gamers and developers to create more inclusive characters, promoting broader representation in future gaming experiences.
