  1. Missed Opportunities and Opportunistic Infections Summary

  2. There are too many missed opportunities for earlier diagnosis and linkages to care. Late presentation to care has important implications for the individuals well being, increased potential onward transmission and increased cost to the health care system. We need to work together to expand testing opportunities to ensure earlier diagnosis and linkages to care happen routinely.

  3. Syphilis – current epidemic among MSM with transmission of HIV with resistance cryptococcal disease, is still a significant cause of morbidity and mortality due to late presentation

  4. If you test for one STBBI, assume that they have risk for the other STBBIs and test for them all

  5. Cannot forget determinants of health for our folks who are co-infected. Without attention to this, our patients will not benefit from all the amazing treatments that are coming!

  6. HPV is prevalent. Prevention is hard. Vaccination is easy-the earlier the better

  7. When you see any florid or unusual lesions / ulcers or sores related to other infections i.e. HSV, VZV OR Molluscum…..think HIV!
