Weather & Thermal Insulation Fixed glazing seal
Introduction: fixed glazing seals Several processes compete in the fixed glazing seal sector: • Extruded seals (“rubber bands”) in which a continuous seal is stuck on the glazing prior to installation • Windshields and backlights • EPDM, TPE • Overmouldingwhere glass is placed into a mould and material is injected onto and around it (Low pressure injection) • Rear/Front quarter windows • PU-RIM, PVC, EPDM, TPE • Robotic extrusion in which a robot deposits a profile on the glass (St Gobain process) • Windshields and backlights • Air-cured PU, TPE
Fixed glazing seal:over moulding • Front quarter window Vehicle: A7 (PSA 207) • MULTIFLEX® TES A6509 EV0 BLK • 65 A Hardness • Density 0.91 • Excellent UV Stabilization (meets D27 1389 and D47 1431 norms) • Very high Fluidity (low pressure injection). Could be proposed for tempered and laminated glass and some backlights (average size) • Aesthetics (colour matching with other seals) • Low odor level
Fixed glazing seal:Applications Slippery effect with Siloxane Masterbatch from Dow Corning: EASY ASSEMBLING
