Workshop Goals • Share knowledge about mechanisms that prevent & limit unnecessary immigration, with a focus on alternatives to detention. • To share strategies on how to engage with governments on implementing these mechanisms. • To equip participants with knowledge of key concepts on preventive monitoring of immigration detention and the role of NGOs in relation to monitoring. • To facilitate networking and future collaboration; feed into IDC’s work and strengthening the EU regional immigration detention network.
