Rule #1 Don’t Give out personal information • • Always keep your online account id and password private • •Don't share it with your friends not even your best friend • • Share it with your parent or guardian • • Don’t give out your location, name, school name, any numbers etc. to people you do not know

  3. Rule #2 Think about what you’re saying • • Be careful what you post in chat rooms • • Don’t bully • • Don’t speak bad language • • Don’t gossip or talk bad about people • • You’re not better than anyone else so don’t think you are

  4. Rule #3Don’t trust strangers • •Don't share photos of yourself online with anyone you don't know • •Chatting online is online only which means never agree to meet an "online friend" • •People online may not be who you think they are • •People could be kidnappers or hackers waiting to get their hands on your information • •They could be predators

  5. Rule #4Be careful what you open • •Protect your computer • •Don't download, install, or open any software or attachments that you don't recognize • •Malware could look like a pop-up or a message saying you have a virus • •Download anti-malware and virus software

  6. Rule #5 never meet up with an online friend • • They’re not who you think they are • • They could be any age • • They could lie to you • • They could be any gender • • They could be hackers and predators • • They could kidnap you

  7. Rule #6forgive people • •Be forgiving of peoples mistakes • •Don’t make fun of them • •You were new to the internet too • •You made mistakes also so don’t think you’re better than anyone else • •No matter what type of mistake it is , you should be teaching them, not laugh at them

  8. Rule #7 Don’t abuse your power • • Don’t brag you know more then someone because one day you might lose that knowledge • •You can lose your privileges • •Knowing more than others or having more power then them does not give you the right to take advantage of them

  9. Rule #8 share your knowledge • •Sharing your knowledge is fun and it is a way to achieve immortality • •Don’t be embarrassed even if you think it’s weird because other people might like it • •Don’t be afraid • •Everyone knows a lot about at least something • •You do have something to offer so if you have it, share it!

  10. Rule #9 don’t waste your time on electronics • •Don’t be on your phone or computer all day • • Decide how long you should spend on your electronics • •Go outside • •Let someone else have a turn • • There are better thing to do

  11. Rule #10 Go on appropriate websites • • Don’t go on inappropriate websites because people could see what you do by digital footprint • • Go on appropriate websites so you don’t get in trouble
