What are Online Activity Modules • Online refers to internet access only • Provides easy access to specific functions • Requires enhanced login procedures to protect data • Allows updating of specific data elements within the data tables that make up NARFES data system • Allows the downloading of data stored on the system in real time (as changes are made to the data tables)

  3. Activity • Activity is the interaction by HQ, Regional Officers, Federation Officers and Chapter Officers with the data stored in the NARFE data tables • Including: • Updating of F-7 and F-7A without intervention by coders at HQ • Downloading of data in formats that can be used to conduct NARFE’s business at each level of operation • HQ, Region VP, Federations, and Chapters

  4. Modules • Modules are concise bits of code that are independent of the overall program • Within each you will find Applications much like internet Apps (applications) • Later you will see the OAM for the Chapter Officers (in this case Chapter 192 – Raleigh) • Four apps are available

  5. Unique to Chapter 192 • Each app allow the user to perform specific task • Add data to a table • Download a predefined data table • Or print a table • Download a table in text or Excel formats • Send emails to a selected group

  6. F-7 Update The F-7 Update button • Clicking the F-7 Update button take you to the updatable Officers Roster

Click the Update button to update to make a change by entering the new officers Member ID The application check to make sure that the Member ID is a current member of this chapter, otherwise it will not make the change. Notice the Member Search button, that allows you to find a member number from you chapter member roster.

  8. Officer Roster Once a change is made the results are instantaneously made to the data table To see the results or to review the Officers click on the Officers Roster button

  9. Officers Roster for Chapter • Here you have a choice: • View Officers Or • Email Officers

  10. Membership Activities Replaces M-112 Report

  11. New Member(s) button • Click “New Member(s) button and period for your reports • Begin date and end date • Then choose sorting order

New Member(s) button cont. • Note: this table is updated monthly thus dates choices are monthly • We chose 1-1-2011 thru 1-1-2012 • And Last Name - alphabetical listing (see other choices) • Results below • Can choose “Save in Excel” for mail merger or other uses\ • Click the “Exit “ button to return to previous activity

  13. Membership Roster • Choosing Member Roster give you the choice between • View Members and • Email Members • Notice there is no between dates because this table is constantly updated

Membership Roster cont. • View Members button gives you the following choices for display • Voting Status and • Sorting Order • Clicking enter produces the table of current members • Notice that the table contains the same fields as the M-114 • Except for the “Action”, “Congressional District” informationand • “Chapter Member” which is a choice in Voting Status for sorting

Dissemination and Training of OAMs • What is the best way to Disseminate information and training as OAMs are introduced • Do we need a Region X OAM Coordinator if so: • Can we use an existing position • Currently we have a CAB appointee for our Region, • Currently we have Federation Officer Code 41 as Network Coordinator and • Currently we have Chapter Officer Code 16 as Network Coordinator

Dissemination and Training of OAMs cont. • What would be the Job Description for Network Coordinator • Currently no definition exists for this position code • How much assistance should be provide or • Should Headquarter IT Staff provide such services • How should chapters without adequate online services, abilities, or interest be serviced when OAMs become the standard for entering and receiving data from the National Data System
