Materials • college ruled composition notebook • Pocket folder • Pencils/pens, markers, colored pencils, highlighters • Gluestick/scotch tape • Dry erase markers • Calculator • Scissors
P.R.I.D.E. Cards • Personal Responsibility in Daily Efforts • Encourages you to complete homework and show up to class on time and with all your materials. • If you receive a P.R.I.D.E. stamp from any teacher you must attend Responsibility Hour (RH). • Make sure you always come PREPARED to class
Daily Routine 10 minutes- bellwork 5 minutes- go over “objective board” 20 minutes- direct instruction 20 minutes- activity applying new concept 5 minutes- assessment… a TEST?!

I want to get to know YOU!!Hands-on Activity 1. Take out a lined sheet of paper 2. Write down 15 words that describe YOU 3. Trace your hand onto a blank sheet of copy paper 4. Use the words you came up with to line the outline of your handprint and write your name in the middle 5. Color your handprint yellow or orange (or both!) 6. Cut out your handprint 7. Time to share!! (Name + word that best describes you!)

Open up to page 4-5 Left Side Right Side The Left side is “left” for you. This is the side that you can use to show me your creativity. The Right side is “Restricted” and contains teacher guided notes. Nothing else should be placed on the Right side!!
Left Side • The left side belongs to you. It contains your Bellwork and the day’s activity. On this page you may include diagrams, cartoons, drawings, poems, foldables, etc. Even Pages

Right Side • The right side belongs to me and should only contain teacher directed guided notes. Nothing else should be placed on this page! The right side contains the notepad icon and will contain all the testable material. Odd Pages

Maintaining your IN • No ripped out pages or torn corners • No doodling that doesn’t relate to notes • Notebook should only be used in Science (No other classes!!) • Keep your “Table of Contents” up to date and number all pages
Ticket out the door • On your sticky note rank your “love” for science on the scale of 0-5. • Write a sentence or two explaining why you chose that number.
