Bi-MONTHLY UPDATEIQSS Team Update: RCE CloudReporting Period: July/August 2013Due: September2013 • FY 12/13 Goals: • Batch - Deploy Prototype RCE Virtual Public Cloud Extension for batch jobs in the AWS(Amazon) Environment • Non-Batch - Deploy Prototype RCE Virtual Public Cloud Extension for non-batch jobs in the AWS(Amazon) Environment • Test Period – Exercise RCE Virtual Public Cloud Extensions with typical users/jobs • Ongoing – System Evaluation, Bug Fixes, Adjustments, Performance Monitoring • Reporting Period Updates: • Configured and tested local/cloud Condor environment to execute large batches of sample R jobs • Configured and incorporated suspension and resumption of jobs on cloud instance worker nodes • Configured Condor development environment to be identical to Condor production environment • Reconfigured the VPC/VPN to enable operation of both tunnels in the router. The mode we were running in only enabled a single tunnel. • Adjusted the both custom java services to integrate uniformly into the existing environment • Attended AWS Architecture Training course - gained valuable new insight into VPC/VPN, IAM security configuration, Cloudwatch and Autoscaling, etc... • Updated java source from version 1.5 to version 1.7– fixed integration issues • Updated AWS SDK to latest version – fixed integration issues • Open issues, questions, or needs • Acquiring an AWS support contract needs to be finalized • Attachments/Metrics • None
