  1. Supplementary Fig. 1 Total glycolipids were extracted from C. glutamicumwild type (WT) and the ∆NCgl1054 mutant and analysed by HPTLC. Glycolipids were developed in chloroform/methanol/1 M ammonium acetate/13M ammonium solution/H2O (180:140:9:9:2.3,v/v) and detected with orcinol-H2SO4 staining. The HPTLC mobility of trehalose dicorynomycolate (TDCM), trehalose monocorynomycolate (TMCM), Gl-X and AcPIM2 are shown. Note accumulation of Gl-X and AcPIM2 in the mutant.
