  1. On 24 July the Italian Panorama revealed a series of images showing a Catholic priest having a homosexual act with another homosexual. • The Pope was outraged by this and said in public many rude remarks about being homosexual • Homosexuals were then outraged by what the Pope has said and many have made protests against the pope. • The Pope then ordered there be a search around all Catholic workplaces for homosexuals. • Many gay people then have moved from catholicism because of the pope’s remarks.

People may say that the Pope is homophobic so that’s why he doesn’t like homosexuals working for him. • It is the law that you’re not allowed to not hire someone just because they’re gay or you just don’t like them. • What’s wrong with being gay in the first place just because you like the same sex. • There will be many people who now despise the Pope and they have moved away from catholicism.

It says in The Bible you are not allowed to be gay but it is not that big a deal if you are anyway. • Once The Pope has said homosexual priests are banned they are banned so if you are a homosexual priest you may be excommunicated. • Many people in the world are homophobic and don’t want gay priests to be preaching to them.

My opinion is that you shouldn’t be treated differently just because you are different, for gay people and many other people you may call weirdoes with ear rings on weird places and stuff like that. You may call these types of people retards, but at least these people have the courage to do these things and say this is who I really am. It’s not just looking at gay Catholics but I’m also looking at how the world works nowadays and that everybody tries to be ‘normal’ define normal for me, tell me what a normal person is how they dress, how they live, how they eat, what they look like etc. There’s nothing wrong with being different because everybody is different. It’s also weird how that a religion says “God loves all people” and then the religion says you’re not allowed to be gay so God doesn’t love you, lots of these types of things just don’t make sense sometimes.

  5. I got my information from a variety of sources and I really only chose websites I could trust and know of and books that have been published and been published recently. One of my main sources of information was the BBC website for they had lots of information on the issue and many quotes from The Pope and from Gay Rights Organisations, they also had videos on the issue and explained the topic very well in clear understandable English. I found a book at the public library named Catholicism and it had three or four pages on homosexuality, it was recently published in 2008 as well so the information was up to date. I got information from many Gay Rights Organisations and saw many arguments they had against the issue.
