Network components. Hubs. A hub is a common connection point for devices in a network. Hubs are used most commonly to connect segments of a LAN. A hub contains multiple port, if a packet arrives at one port, it is coped to the other ports so everyone using the LAN can see it. Bridges.

  3. Bridges • A bridge connects two or more LANs together, the data travels through the bridge to other networks.
