  2. Talk with you about a plan about how Adult Social Services will ensure it involves people who use services and carers in everything it does What I want to do today

  3. Why do we need a plan?

  4. Because: • It is important • People in Lincolnshire have said they want to get involved in improving the support and services they receive

  5. What is the plan?

  6. We plan to: • Create more opportunities for people • Make sure the way we involve people works well • Make sure that peoples’ contribution makes a real a difference • Work with other organisations • Support people • Evaluate how effective our involvement activities have been

  7. How will you ensure that when you involve people you do it well?

  8. We will introduce standards • Clear • Meaningful • Accessible • Well planned • Supported • Followed through • Ethical

  9. What action will you take first?

Support user-led organisations to develop in Lincolnshire Develop Reference Groups Review involvement of people in the Putting People First programme Build engagement activities into Service Plans Amend Contracts so that providers have same standards of involvement Develop outcome measures and targets for reporting In 2010/11 we will:

  11. Work together with Partnership Boards and Reference Groups, and make sure activities are coordinated, Promote Partnership Boards. Look at how people who use services can have more influence on Partnership Boards. Develop policy and guidance on the reward and recognition of people we work with. Provide access to learning and development opportunities which help people to get involved. In 2010/11 we will:

  12. Develop an effective working relationship with LINk Put in place monitoring arrangements to see how well we are including people from all sectors of society. Develop guidance on how to monitor the effectiveness of involvement activities. Introduce a checklist to use to evaluate if involvement activities were done well. In 2010/11 we will:
