  2. Introduction Recommended Restructuring of Model Task Force Committees • To pursue task force goals and objectives Recommendations based on: • Understanding of activities of existing committees • FSUTMS User Satisfaction Survey • Review of future trends in transportation planning

  3. ProposedCommittees Four Committees • Data Committee • GIS Committee • Transit Committee • Model Advancement Committee

  4. DataCommittee Responsibilities • Assessing transportation modeling data needs • Transportation/land use interaction • Data for all modes and areas of transportation modeling

  5. GISCommittee Responsibilities • Improvements/enhancements to GIS procedures related to transportation modeling • Development of new GIS-related tools

  6. TransitCommittee Responsibilities • Addressing issues related to transit modeling using Cube Voyager Public Transport (PT) • Addressing issues related to applications for FTA’s New Starts/Small Starts projects

  7. Model AdvancementCommittee Responsibilities • Assessing state-of-the-art transportation modeling applications to be adopted by the Florida standard model

Proposed Committee Operations • Committee Chairs • Chairs/co-chairs should be drawn from MTF voting member agencies by the tri-chairs • Proposed Committee Chairs • Data: Gary Kramer, WFRPC • GIS: Lina Kulikowski, Broward MPO • Transit: Larry Foutz, Miami-Dade MPO • Model Advancement: Mike Neidhart, Volusia MPO

Proposed Committee Operations • Tri-Chair Oversight • MTF tri-chairs will provide overall guidance and work closely with the MTF committee chairs to facilitate effective operation of the committees • Staff Coordinator • Systems Planning Office modeling staff will serve as MTF committee staff coordinator and work closely with committee chairs and MTF tri-chairs to provide feedback to the MTF on a regular basis

  11. Proposed Committee Operations • Technical Subcommittees • Tri-chairs and MTF leadership will create technical subcommittees under the MTF committees to address specific technical issues and provide recommendations • Subcommittees will sunset after completing their tasks

  12. Proposed Committee Operations • Review of Committee Structure • MTF tri-chairs will review the committee structure biennially to determine the need to sunset committees or to create new committees

  13. Proposed Committee Operations • MTF Working Group as Advisory Panel • The MTF working group will provide technical oversight and guidance to the MTF tri-chairs and committee chairs to ensure that the Florida standard model incorporates emerging tools and techniques to meet Florida transportation planning needs
