Image Search Using Deformable Contours
DESCRIPTION
This research presents a novel methodology for image searching through deformable contours, where targets are modeled as scaled and rotated versions of templates with distorted edges. Inspired by Jain et al.'s work on object matching using deformable templates, we implemented MGHT peak clustering and watershed methods combined with contour matching and smooth membrane fitting. Our approach involves preprocessing with Canny edge detection and utilizing Gibbs Sampler with simulated annealing to minimize energy functions, leading to effective contour matching and image search results for various shapes.
