  3. This presentation is dedicated to… My friend Dakota because he always gets my lunch box for snack. I also picked Dakota because he is my best friend. He is always my partner. He always helps me whenever I need help. He helped on this project by saying if the sentences made sense. Back to Table of Contents

  4. What food did they eat? The Miwoks didn’t waste all their time playing games and building huts, they hunted good, good, good food. The men went in the woods to hunt food. The men hunted down fish, elk, ducks, geese, and deer. They never got hungry. Most of the food that they ate are from land and the others are from water.   5. Where did they live? The Miwoks got to go in the cold Pacific Ocean, would you ever want to do that? To get seafood they went in the Pacific Ocean.   6. What religion did they follow? Have you always been scared of spirits, well don’t be the Miwoks were all about spirits. The Miwoks followed Christianity. In Christianity they do spirits. Most of the spirits were good. They follow animal spirits, nature spirits, and human spirits. Kind of creepy right? I think it was creepy that they followed a bunch of spirits in Christianity.   7. What houses did they live in? The Miwoks didn’t build those small tepees, they built huts. The Miwoks built round huts with pointy roofs from the sticks. They had to be careful so they didn’t stab themselves. The doors were made of straw. They rapped it around with rope. They built it with grass and tule reeds. Sometimes the Miwoks used tree bark.   8. What are some things they made? Have you ever wanted to know what the poles with faces on were? Well the Miwoks knew and now I’ll tell you. First of all they are called Totem poles. They are also called Mortuary poles. They are for ceremonies. Right now there are 1,800 Totem poles in the world. Some are even still standing from back then.   9. What clothing did they wear? The Miwoks just didn’t wear cloth, they wore fashionable clothes. The Miwoks liked to be fashionable. They used shellfish for necklaces and acorns and berries. The material for what they usually use is reeds and leather. Men sometimes wore basically bathrobes, but they are called Breech cloths that were from cloth.   10. What is a game that they played? The Miwoks didn’t just work all the time, they played games. The Miwoks mostly played betting and guessing games. One of the games they played was Pass the Stone. To play Pass the Stone they play music then pass the stone. When the music stops the person with the stone has to hide the stone in their hands. The person who is next to them has to close their eyes then open them and guess witch hand is the stone in. I learned that now a days we still play pass the stone, but we play with a toy.   11. About Daniel Daniel was born in Maryland and grew up in Maryland. He goes to Sherwood Elementary School. Daniel is smart, kind, and friendly. What Daniel likes to do for fun is basketball, flag football, and do tricks on his bike, and watch Redskin games because he is a huge Redskin fan.
