Ex: a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. 2. any long journey, esp. one undertaken as a quest or for a votive purpose, as to pay homage. Ex: a pilgrimage to the grave of Shakespeare. • Respond to the following: • What types of people do you think would go on a pilgrimage? Why would individuals go on this type of journey?
