LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Add a New Paper • Go to: http://llk.media.mit.edu/edit 123 • Click on Papers • Type title • Editorial style: Sample of a Paper Title. • (*Type full stop after title) • 4) Type name of publication • (*Type full stop after publication) • 5) Type year • (no punctuation required) • 6) Enter URL of paper – • Location on llk server - llk/llk/papers • 7) Click on related project(s) and bio(s) • (hold control key to add more than one • project or to delete a previously • selected project or bio) • 8) Click on Add/Edit to save your paper • 9) Check related projects and bios to ensure • papers are linked

LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Edit a Paper • Go to: http://llk.media.mit.edu/edit 123 • Click on Papers • Click and highlight paper you would like to edit • 4) Type edits • 5) Click on Add/Edit to save your paper • If you change the title in any way • This will ADD a new Title. You need to then • Delete the old entry. • Note: If you change capitalization • In the title, add and then delete – BOTH papers Are deleted – This will be fixed. • 6) Check papers page for spelling – changes are live so please try and check before you edit • 7) Check related projects and bios to ensure • papers are linked

LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Delete a paper • Go to: http://llk.media.mit.edu/edit 123 • Click on Papers • Click and highlight paper you would like to delete • Click on Delete to delete your paper • Check papers page for spelling – changes are live so please try and check before you edit • Check related projects and bios to ensure • papers are linked

LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Add a Project and Abstract Text in PLDB • All LLK projects need to be entered into the PLDB to be viewed from the LLK website and from the LLK Editor. • Go to: http://www.media.mit.edu/pldb/ • 2) Text descriptions in PLDB are limited to one paragraph and DO NOT accept embedded HTML. • NOTE - Use the LLK editor to override PLDB project descriptions – See Next Slide for instructions • 3) Abstract Highlights can only be entered by Liz D. Email your abstract – no longer than 50 words to doherty@media.mit.edu • Make sure project start and end dates are active. • 6) Click Save Changes to save your data

LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Add a Project via LLK Editor 1) To add project text which is more that one Paragraph and accepts HTML you should use the LLK Editor to override project information on the PLDB 2) Your project title and related images however must be entered on the PLDB first to show up on LLK Editor. 3) Go to: http://llk.media.mit.edu/edit 123 4) Select projects, click on project title you want to add/edit text with HTML 4) Enter text and embedded HTML 5) Click on Edit Projects

LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Project Asset Descriptions and Specifications • Logo –Image appears on project listing and must be 120X120 pixels (otherwise it stretches) • Default Image – Second image on the specific project page. Must be 120 height and width can vary • Other Image – third image on the specific project page. Must be 120 height and width can vary • Presentation, Move, Directory – these are variable assets that will show as links in the navigation bar of your project page and are meant to contain links to mpeg or ppt files. • Note text entered in Title will show as text in this location on the llk web site

LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Add a images and other assets to PLDB Projects • To add and image or asset to a project, From the drop down menu on PLDB project page - Click on the type of asset • Click Add, and new window opens. • Browse and upload asset. • Click public access to asset. • Click on Save, Asset window closes • Click on Save Changes on project page

LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Add Spotlight article • Go to: http://llk.media.mit.edu/edit 123 • Click on Spotlight • Type spotlight order # (1-4) on homepage • 4) Type title of spotlight article • 5) Type URL of article image • (127 pix width, length variable, save image to • llk/llk/spotlight) • 6) Link image to a relevant web page URL • 7) Type article with embedded HTML • 8) Click Save spotlight • 9) Check spelling on homepage

LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Select Feature Projects for Project page • Go to: http://llk.media.mit.edu/edit 123 • Click on Feature Projects • Type spotlight order # (1-4) on homepage • 4) Click on project you wish to feature. • ** NOTE :If more than one project is already selected. • Click on CNTRL and project (otherwise you lose • selected featured projects already highlighted) • If you make a mistake, don’t save your changes and • Pre-selected features will not be lost. • 5) Click Edit Featured projects to save

  12. LLK Website Editorial Guidelines Enter People Blurb, Alumni, Urops • Go to: http://llk.media.mit.edu/edit 123 • Click on People • 3) People Blurb – is not currently used. But will • Introduce text before list of people and photos • 4) Type names alphabetically by last name to • enter alumns and urops • 5) Faculty, Urops, RA, consultants are all linked • To the ML Directory. – and not controlled by • llk editor • 6) ML Directory is managed by HR’s Lisa Breede • for staff and Faculty and by Linda P for all students. • If your name doesn’t appear contact them • to get your name listed in directory. • 7) Once in the directory you can enter your photo • (100X100) – other • 8) Save your baby photo in 127 width – length variable • In llk/llk/images/baby – • NAMING CONVENTION –baby-mlusername.jpg • It will automatically link to your bio page
