Thank you! • To MCSD Board of trustees for committing your support to the Middle College Program; • To the administration and staff for supporting the program and the efforts of the students; • To the parents for entrusting us with your children; and • To the students for your continued efforts. • Currently, there are 29 students enrolled in the Middle College Program: 13 Juniors and 16 Seniors. • These students are the “face” of McCormick High School. • This program is a stepping stone for McCormick students wanting to pursue higher education. Establishing high expectations for our students, the Middle College Coach serves as an: • Advocate • Counselor • Life Coach • Liaison Middle College Coach Roles
The 29 students in this year’s program are still adjusting to the changes associated with a new Middle College Coach. • Thus far, the year has been a positive learning experience. • We have decided to make text message/phone calls our primary source of communication. • The Piedmont Technical College professors and the McCormick High School teachers have been teaming up to provide tutoring opportunities for the Middle College Students. • The Piedmont Technical College Staff have been cooperative and eager to assist our students. Having met the early application deadlines established by many colleges and universities, Middle College Students are anxiously waiting the arrival of their acceptance letters. • 84 college applications have been completed. • We are looking forward to building on the successes of the past.
