This project proposal outlines a Monte Carlo simulation method for modeling photon migration in biological tissues. The approach consists of the following steps: creating a parametric model representing the relationship between factors, generating random input variables, evaluating the model to obtain results, and repeating the evaluation through multiple iterations. The results will be analyzed using histograms, summary statistics, and confidence intervals. The proposal also details the implementation of photon transport, covering launching, movement, absorption, scattering, and termination of photon packets.

Project Proposal Monte Carlo Simulation of Photon Migration
Monte Carlo Method • Step 1:Create a parametric model, y = f(x1, x2, ..., xq). • Step 2:Generate a set of random inputs, xi1, xi2, ..., xiq. • Step 3:Evaluate the model and store the results as yi. • Step 4:Repeat steps 2 and 3 for i = 1 to n. • Step 5:Analyze the resultsusing histograms, summary statistics, confidence intervals, etc.
Implementation of photon transport • Step 1: Launching a photon packet • Step 2: Step size selection and photon packet movement • Step 3: Absorption and scattering • Step 4: Photon termination
