    4. Human rights are the rights to health ! 4

    5. At the beginning is always a law 5

    6. Law of Rights, obligations and responsibilities of patients in the FB&H - came into force July 8, 2010 This Law defines patients rights, obligations and responsibilities during using of health care and health protection 6

    7. According to this Law a “patient” is: each person, sick or healthy, insured or not insured, which is demanding or to whom is offered certain measure or service with purpose of protection, promotion of health, prevention of diseases, treatment, health care or rehabilitation 7

    8. The purpose of this Law is to make possible for the patients in FB&H: -equal - adequate - continuous high-quality safe health care based on partnership with patients and healthcare workers 8

    9. The Law is based on the following principles: 1. The right of patients to preserve and protect their own health, healing and disease prevention measures 2. Respect for human dignity of patients 9

    10. 3. Respect for the rights of physical and mental integrity of the patient and personal safety 4. Respect and protection for the patient‘s personality, including respect for his privacy, worldview, moral and religious beliefs 10

    11. Patients are entitled to access : health care informations participate in the process of healing free choice of doctor 11

    12. the self-determination and consent (in particular deals with the protection of patients which are unable to give consent) the confidentiality and privacy confidentiality of the data 12

    13. prevention and relieve suffering and pain respect of patients' time preventive measures and information on protection of health right to complaint right to the diet in accordance with worldview 13

    14. maintenance of personal contacts the performance of religious ritual 14

    15. Duties and responsibilities of patients refer to: personal health other users of health services health care workers and health associates who provide health care services the wider community 15

    16. Other aspects Ensuring the protection of the rights of patients in health institutions or private practices Establishment of Health council in the local government and health departments 16

    17. Education about this Law is the main prerequisite for the good implementation and achivement of the main goal: BETTER HEALTH FOR THE POPULATION IN FEDERATION OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA ! 17

    18. Who will be educated ? General population (we are all patients) 2. Patients in all health institutions 3. Healt -care providers 4. Policy makers 18

    19. How to do that? Depens of the “target group” Using of different ways: Popular articles in news paper, leaflets, broshures TV Facebook, Twiter Profesional education (for health workers) Education of all people working in health institutions ………….. other 19

    20. Our Law looks like very nice on the paper- it is important - but the implementation will show is it acceptable in our Country or not 20
