  25. NIV Acts 15:5 ~ Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, "The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law of Moses.“ NIV Acts 15:10 (Peter) ~ Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?

  28. “yoke” ( Ac 15:10)

  29. “yoke” ( Ac 15:10) “difficult” (Ac 15:19)

  30. “yoke” ( Ac 15:10) “difficult” (Ac 15:19) “troubling” (Ac 15:24)

  32. Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, "You are my Son, today I have begotten you"; as he says also in another place, "You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” — Hebrews 5:5-6

  33. Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, "You are my Son, today I have begotten you"; as he says also in another place, "You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” — Hebrews 5:5-6 And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. — Hebrews 5:9-10

  34. — Hebrews 5:9-10 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. — Hebrews 6:19-20

  35. For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham . . . and blessed him,  and to him Abraham apportioned a tenth part of everything . . . And those descendants of Levi who receive the priestly office have a commandment in the law to take tithes from the people . . . But this man who does not have his descent from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.  It is beyond dispute that the inferior is blessed by the superior . . . One might even say that Levi himself, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham,  for he was still in the loins of his ancestor when Melchizedek met him. — Hebrews 7:1-10 (ESV)

  36. ESV Hebrews 7:11 ~ Now if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the order of Aaron?

  37. ESV Hebrews 7:11 ~ Now if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the order of Aaron? NAS Hebrews 7:12 ~ For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.

  42. “yoke” ( Ac 15:10) “difficult” (Ac 15:19) “troubling” (Ac 15:24) “burden” (Ac 15:28) “change of law” (Heb 7:12) “former regulation” (Heb 7:18) “set aside” (Heb 7:18) “weak” (Heb 7:18)

  43. “yoke” ( Ac 15:10) “difficult” (Ac 15:19) “troubling” (Ac 15:24) “burden” (Ac 15:28) “change of law” (Heb 7:12) “former regulation” (Heb 7:18) “set aside” (Heb 7:18) “weak” (Heb 7:18) “useless” (Heb 7:18)

  46. NIV Hebrews 7:22 ~ Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. NIV Hebrews 8:6 ~ But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises. BETTER

  47. BETTER SUPERIOR

  48. “old” (Heb 8:6)

  49. NIV 2 Corinthians 3:14 ~ . . . their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.
