  2. Project Goals • Goal I: Disseminate information about C.A.W.N.Y to current and prospective members • Goal II: Foster discussion related to the teaching of the Classics • Goal III: Promote sharing of teaching materials

  3. Description • Website contains: • Officer list • Member list • Events • Material Sharing • News • Links • Information about CAWNY • Contact Information Each Webpage can contain information individual to your organization.

  4. Procedures • Choose Web design software: Front Page, Dreamweaver, Yahoo Sitebuilder • Play with the software- see what templates, clipart the software offers • Learn how the software works so when you get started you aren’t learning as you go • Decide whether to use templates and what the look of the site will be • Decide on topics for site (Navigation Bar items) • Start adding text and pictures to site Preplanning is the key to a good looking and highly usable site!

  5. Tips • Look at other sites on the Web: • See what you like/don’t like • Get ideas for layout/format • Scout out sites you would like to add as links to your site (be sure to annotate links) • Ask someone else to preview your site and give you feedback • Start small—you can always add more • Remember that you will be updating your site: there are always opportunities to make changes
