  1. Media Evil Times - Part 2The Awareness • 2 Corinthians 10:5

  2. The Five Senses are Avenues for Media - Here’s how it works: • Imaginations (pl.) - developed from a “thought” that has entered the mind (through one of the senses)and has been assimilated and stored as good or evil, true or false. (Something that you have made up your mind about!) • High thing (“every” pl.) - thoughts, ideas, and concepts that attempt to equal God or surpass the need for God. A thought that leaves God out! • Thought(“every” pl.) - Thoughts that oppose the Holiness of God - Evil , sinful, disobedient thoughts!

  3. Here is the Process: • Media conveys information(good/bad) • It is floating around out there in a book, on a radio wave • In cyberspace or a piece of canvas, or in a bottle... • Five Senses deliver info to the mind with a thought • The Mind assimilates that thought • Is it a high thing? Does this oppose what I know about God? • If so, you bring it into captivity and make it obey Christ, who is holy! • Imaginations can be true or false, good or evil! • Actions play out what Media has put in! • Good in, good out...garbage in, garbage out • Lu 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. • Our personality, our lifestyles, who we become is shaped by this information...good or bad!

  4. Man has been here before: • Gen. 6:5And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 ¶ And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

  5. The Time Line of Media

  6. Some things we have learned about Media: • It contains good information and evil information • It can be used for good and evil- Peaching the Gospel on the radio as well as rock music. Propaganda in newspapers, inform readers of danger...etc. • God created it! • Ge 1:31 ¶ And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. • Ge 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; • It is here to stay! Man’s sin has corrupted the images that God created! Thus, man’s thoughts are corrupted! I could take this very deep right now...(Gen. 2:25 before sin) • It must be controlled! Even though we have freedom of speech and freedom of the press, sane people have regulations on all media!!!

  7. The Truth About Media • Gen. 3:1-7 ¶ Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eatof every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 ¶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

  8. The Truth About Media (con’t) • Every sense of man was affected in the original sin except smell and someone said, “You could probably smell the sulfur of Hell on the hide of the serpent that day!” • Satan is the “Prince of the power of the air” • Eph 2:1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. • It should not surprise us that media is corrupt and it has always been corrupt! • And the truth is, you have to look awfully hard to find the good in the media.

  9. The Test of Media • For the Christian, all media must be made subject to “The Word of God!” • Logic says that, the only way to ever determine if something is real or true is to test it with the real thing • Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do:
