In 2009-2010, significant improvements were made in the file review process for Early Intervention (EI), EI Transition, and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programs. All guidance and corrective actions have been consolidated into a single form for each section. Key changes include new numbering for file reviews, mandatory dates for specific questions, and clearer corrective action requirements. These enhancements facilitate better compliance tracking and provide a more streamlined approach to file reviews and corrective actions, with an improved online system for documentation and review processes.

Notes on Corrective Actions requiring file reviews… • If the corrective action for a standard requires review of additional files, you will be able to select “yes” or “no” but not “corrected.” • Reason: We are still developing a component that will identify Systemic Noncompliance. • Enter all files on the system prior to doing file reviews. This allows you to see which standards are out, pull new files, and review all noncompliant standards at the same time on the new files.
Notes on Corrective Actions requiring file reviews… • When the feature for systemic reviews is active on the web, you will be able to go back to the standards and choose “corrected.” • At that point, the comments section will automatically provide the required # of slots to enter SSID#s and their compliance status. • If a file is entered and noncompliant, this becomes a systemic correction. Stop, train, and review additional files.
