History of Taxation • The United States had a few taxes in the earlier history. • From 1791 to 1802, the United States government was supported by internal taxes. • The high cost of the War of 1812, brought the nation’s first taxes on gold, silverware, jewelry, and watches. • The Act of 1864, however, established the office of Commissioner of Internal Revenue.

  3. Agree or Disagree with taxation? • I disagree because taxation makes us pay more money and we hate that!

  4. New York • New York's taxes = 6% They have everything high priced these days.

  5. Arkansas • Arkansas’s taxes = 50% on groceries They have a lot of things that are cheap and expensive I don’t really agree with the taxation on groceries, but with other things I would agree.

  6. Florida • Florida’s taxes = 6% state taxes I do agree with the taxation because the percent isn't that high!

  7. Hawaii • Taxes = 10 to 15% Hawaii is a fun place to be, even if they have high taxes.

  8. Arizona • Taxes = 7% I can agree with the taxation of Arizona because their taxes are very low!

  20. Agree or Disagree • I agree because a Dell Laptop is really nice and it’s a good price….we plus tax but it’s good!
