  2. Real World Problem • Mary-Stewart, Caroline, and both of their mothers want to go see a Justin Bieber concert. The tickets cost $103.75 per person. So how much would it cost for Mary-Stewart, Caroline and their mothers to go to the concert?

  3. Equation Y=103.75x or f(x)=103.75 X=The number of tickets Y=The total cost

  4. Independent & Dependent Variables • The independent variable is my X value which is the number of concert tickets. • The dependent variable is my Y value which is the total cost.

  5. Is This A Function? • Yes, because it passes the vertical line test and does not have two or more of the same domain values.

  6. Domain • Domain means the X value. • My domains are…. {1,2,3,4}

  7. Range • Range means the Y value. • The range of my points are…. {103.75, 207.5, 311.25, 415}

  8. Continuous or Discrete? • My domain is discrete because, my graph has a limited amount of numbers of values possible.
