TOUR 221 / TREN 3P18:Sustainable Transportation • Interdisciplinary survey of the environmental, cultural, social and economic effects of our use of automobiles, airplanes, trains and watercraft in built and natural environments. • Impacts of tourist mobility. • Principles, policies, and planning for sustainable transportation.

  5. Course Elements Comparative overview of transportation modes and options, including: • environmental impacts • sociocultural expectations • economic dimensions • international aspects • tourism implications • transportation alternatives

  6. Course Elements • wide-ranging and interdisciplinary • many types of literature (academic, popular, advocacy, corporate) • extensive use of multimedia (photos, video, online sources) • peer evaluation component
