  2. Past Legislation • Last year’s legislation was a first step by closing down loopholes in the law. • House Bill 2647 closed a loophole under which certain state agencies do not have to report their usage of government cars.

  3. Moving Forward • We will move forward this year by examining centralized fleet policies to ensure centralized practices are driving down costs. -Inventory Control -Service & Rentals -Management Control -Assignments -Usage Numbers by Dept. -Gas & Oil Costs • Monthly Reports Centralized Fleet

  4. Adjustments Needed • Based on information received we need to adjust our centralized fleet practices as necessary to ensure we are truly saving taxpayer dollars. • Study could lead to legislation as soon as next year.

  5. Fleet Study Speakers • LABOR – Mark Costello, Introduction of Zip Car technology concept for centralization (15 min.) • ENERGY - Sec. Ming, Governor’s CNG Plan (15 min.) • OPEA - Sterling Zerling, State employee liability when using their own POV. (10 min.) • ENTERPRISE – Kilpatrick, Rep Murphey, Update for the committee on savings from trip optimizer fleet (15 min.) • FLEET – DCS (15 min.)
