  2. Real world problem • Josh got $155.75 for his birthday, and he bought x pair of shoes with it.

  3. Equation • Y= 155.75-25x

  4. Independent and dependent variables • The change depends on the amount of money spent.

  5. Is it a function? Why? • Yes, because it passes the vertical line test, and the x value doesn’t repeat.

  6. Definition for domain and range. • Domain- the set of possible input values of a relation or function. ( 1,2,3,4,5) • Range- the set of output values of a function or relation. ( 130.75, 105.75, 80.75, 55.75, 30.75)

  7. Is the domain continuous or discrete? Why? • Discrete, because you cant buy a half a pair of shoes.

  8. Equation stated and function notation • Y= 155.75-25x • F(x)= 155.75-25x
