  1. Making Him KnownAs a Group Sermon 4 of 4 March 30th 2014

  2. In our meeting next week after services we will be: • Offering some new small groups, • New ministry opportunities, and • Having people resign up for the action groups.

  3. Your Thoughts? • A healthy body is made up of healthy and active parts and the intent is to develop more activity among individuals and as a group. • Activity and discussion go hand in hand and we want everyone to have a voice.

  4. Where Do We Start? • The slogan: • “Knowing God and • Making Him Known.”

  5. Getting Here: • Knowing God Individually • Knowing God as a Group • Making Him Known Individually…

  6. Making God Known As a Group • A main way involves our building and our worship assembly.

  7. Question? • What would someone have learned about God and our view of him so far today?

  8. Ephesians 5:19-20 Page 1823 • “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

  9. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 Pg 1773 … 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. … 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.

  10. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 Pg1784 • 26…For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

  11. 1 Corinthians 14:22-25 on page 1788 • …24But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, 25 and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!”

  12. The Work of the Holy Spirit • The Holy Spirit is active in leading people to God and when people spend time with us we pray that they see that God is really among us. • Our focus in making God known as a group is that God is known and receives the glory.

  13. Making Him Known • We also make him known as a group in others ways. • We need to consider the purpose and impact of any time that we gather together as a group whether it be as a small group, to minister to the church and community, for Sunday School, fellowship events, inviting people to services, visitation, hospitality…

  14. Health and Activity • Healthy bodies are made of healthy parts and healthy bodies are active. • As a group and as individuals we exist to Know God and Make Him Known. • Thank you for your efforts individually and as a group. • To God be the glory!
